I've tried running the game with Ddraw in 2D and it's barely even playable it runs like garbage. I've checked my task manager and closed any and all apps that could potentially be causing issues. I'm playing in windowed mode, but I've tried full screen also and the fps drops happen in both instances. I'm playing on Plugy with D2SE and I'm using Sven's Glide Wrapper to play with glide instead of D3D. This happens regardless of number of enemies on screen, shadows set to low/high, etc. The game runs fine at 25 fps, then suddenly it drops to 18 or 19 fps and there's a large noticeable stutter. I'm experiencing some FPS drops in Diablo 2 and it's putting a damper on the fun big time. I know there are tons of posts like this, trust me, I've read most of them.
